Composites
Bronte Engineering Technologies have been working with Diaphorm from the USA and UK based consultants to develop the use of reinforced thermoplastics in more advanced engineering applications.
We are currently working with a small number of customers In particular looking into the replacement of ferrous and non-ferrous castings.
If you are considering the possibility of using composites either in new products or to replace existing components we would be happy to discuss the suitability of reinforced thermoplastics.
Some current applications are shown in this website alternatively you can Visit Diaphorm's website
Background:
Continuous Reinforced Fibre Composites
Materials are available as fabrics and braids made from co-mingled or pre-treated yarns, or as pre-consolidated sheets.
Reinforcements can include glass, carbon, or aramid and are available in combination with a range of alternative thermoplastic matrices.
This array of options provides a wide range of durability, strength, weight and cosmetic options.
Diaphorm process methods for Continuous Fibre reinforced material provide:
Lower cost tooling compared to many other production techniques.
Mid range volume production ;( 1,000-10,000) between hand lay-up and compression moulding
“Near net” or “net” shape processing, maximizing raw material usage.
Ability to achieve cosmetic finishes integrated with structural composites.
